Let`s Learn More About The New Artist !

I`m presenting Sara Beth Bareilles, she is an American singer-songwriter and pianist. Sara achieved mainstream success in 2007 with the single "Love Song", which brought her into the Top 5 on the Billboard pop charts. She has been compared to Delta Goodrem, Fiona Apple and Norah Jones despite her lack of formal training in either voice or piano.
After graduating from college in 2002, Bareilles performed at local bars and clubs, earning a following, before performing in larger venues. She issued two demos of mostly live tracks in 2003: The First One in April and The Summer Sessions in October. In 2004, she appeared as a singer in a bar in the indie film Girl Play, performing the song "Undertow".

In January 2004, Bareilles released her first studio album, Careful Confessions. She signed a contract with Epic Records' A&R executive Pete Giberga on April 15, 2005. The album didn't reach the success she was hoping for. The remainder of the year and early 2006 was spent writing and reworking songs for her upcoming album.

In 2007, Bareilles toured as the opening act for Aqualung and Mika. In late-2007, she opened for several shows on both Maroon 5 and Paolo Nutini's U.S. tours.

In June 2007, iTunes featured Bareilles' single "Love Song" as the free single of the week. The following month, her major-label debut Little Voice shot to #1 on the list of most downloaded albums of the music store in its first week of release, and debuted at #45 on the Billboard 200 chart. After being featured on a Rhapsody commercial in 2007, "Love Song" began climbing the pop charts, jumping from #73 to #16 in one week! As of December 27, 2007, "Love Song" has entered the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. Watch her single "Love Song" below and enjoy.

Let`s Learn More About The New Artist !

Duffy, born Aimee Anne Duffy, is a 23 years old Welsh female soul singer-songwriter. Raised in Nefyn on the Llŷn Peninsula with her twin sister, Katie, her parents divorced when she was 10, and she moved to Pembrokeshire with her mother and sisters. Her early interest in singing was apparently inspired by her father's videotape of the 1960s television rock show Ready Steady Go!

Duffy returned to Nefyn when she was 15, and started singing in various local bands. After being involved in an unsuccessful music project in Switzerland, Duffy returned to Wales in 2003 and auditioned for Wawffactor, a Welsh alternative to Pop Idol on S4C where she was expected to win, but eventually came second to winner Lisa Pedrig.

Bernard Butler co-wrote with her and helped create a sound that has been compared to Dusty Springfield.
Contracted to A&M Records during 2007, on 23 November 2007, Duffy performed on the BBC2 television show Later with Jools Holland. In Wales she seemed set to become the "pop" equivalent of mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins. A number of commentators have remarked on her unaffected personality and natural charm. Her new and first single is titled "Mercy", you can watch the Music Video below. Her album, "Rockferry" is set to release 3 March, 2008. Check her out!

This week are we going back to the year where boybands and girlpower was on the top charts all over the world. We are talking 1995 this week.

On February 10, 1995. One of best selling girl groups of all time was on #3. They has sold over 45 million records worldwide. Their second album, CrazySexyCool (1994), was one of the first albums to be awarded diamond certification and sold over 10 million copies. Billboard ranks the group as one of the greatest musical trios of all time. It`s TLC off course with their single "Waterfalls".

On #2 was an Grammy Award winning American rapper and actor perhaps best known for the hit song "Gangsta's Paradise", a reworking of the Stevie Wonder song Pastime Paradise. The album Gangsta's Paradise is considered a classic west coast Gangsta rap album, thanks to songs like "Exercise Yo Game" and "Geto Highlites." In high school, his nickname was 'Boo'. We`re talking about Coolio with the single "Gangsta`s Paradise" . The single reached number one in the U.S., UK, Canada, Germany, France, Sweden, Austria, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, and New Zealand, making it Coolio's most successful single ever.

On #1 was TLC again, they had two songs on the Billboard chart this date. "Creep" was TLC's first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100, and the first single from their second album, CrazySexyCool. It remained at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for four weeks, and became the second best-selling single of 1995, behind Madonna's "Take a Bow". TLC won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance. It has been confirmed that Amy Winehouse will perform at Sunday’s Grammy Awards via satellite from a London studio. As I told earlier Winehouse was denied a visa earlier this week to enter the US. Amy issued the following statement today:

I’m raring to go and really excited to be performing at my first Grammy Awards,” “I’d like to thank everyone for their support over the last couple of weeks. I’m really sorry I can’t be there but I appreciate that I’m being given a second chance via satellite.

To prepare for the performance, the singer will be leaving the rehabilitation clinic where she has been staying for two weeks.
Winehouse is up for six Grammys:

Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for “Rehab,” Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Back to Black, as well as Best New Artist.

Timbaland Update!!

Hitmaker & producer Timbaland has recently signed a deal with Verizon Wireless to create the first "mobile album" which will be exclusively available to subscribers of V Cast, Verizon's mobile entertainment service. Timbaland will produce one song per month throughout 2008 and they will be released days after they're finished in the studio. The rumored artists to collab in Timbo's new project are; OneRepublic, Paramore, Flo Rida, Natasha Bedingfield, Taylor Swift and Chris Cornell. But the very first Verizon song has already been recorded and was premiered at a Pre-Grammy show last night. It is a collab with the one and only Keri Hilson! Hopefully it'll leak in some way soon.

Other news: Timbo recently shot the music video for the collaborated track with Justin and Madonna, the song is titled "4 MINUTES TO SAVE THE WORLD". Can`t wait to hear it!!

Justin Timberlake was interviewed for Hollyeood Daily People and of course was asked a few questions about his collaboration with Madonna:

HDP: You worked on Madonna's new album with Timbaland. In what direction did you take her?

JT: Basically, our job was to re-invent her sound. My thing was producing her vocals, really experimenting with rhythm. Everything she does with rhythm is straightforward. What I do is more staccato and R&B. So the challenge for me was writing songs, then saying, 'How can I make this sound more like Madonna?' I'm a big fan of her first album. So my mission was to write a modern-day 'Holiday.' I wrote a cool house record for her called 'Miles Away' that I think is a smash! She sounds great on it.

HDP: So is it an R&B Madonna?

JT: It's an R&B/pop/dance record, but it´s still Madonna. Her voice still sounds like she's 18 year old! It trips me out that she's 49. She´s always been rough and tough. Her last couple of records, she's like, 'Rrrrrrr!'

HDP: How did she react to your ideas?

JT: A couple of times I pushed her in a direction where it took a minute before we saw eye to eye. Her approach was, 'Well, I just haven't done that.' And I was like, 'Yeah, that´s why you should do it.'

HDP: So did you teach Madonna how to beatbox?

JT: (Laughs) No, no. We left that to me and Tim.
